A few years ago, Dave Grohl, the frontman of the Foo Fighters, bought a regular ticket to attend a Metallica concert.

This concert took place in the “snake pit” at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Surprisingly, Grohl decided to blend in with the crowd and didn’t take any special VIP treatment.

He mingled with fellow concertgoers and even took selfies with them:

Although it’s not confirmed whether Dave Grohl met Ray Burton, the father of the late Metallica bassist Cliff Burton, who was also at the concert, the idea of such an encounter is intriguing.

Regardless of whether you’re a fan of Grohl’s music or not, it’s hard to deny that he’s just a regular guy like the rest of us. He’s been a fan of Metallica for a long time and once mentioned in an interview that he’ll be a die-hard Metallica fan for life.

He shared a story about buying Metallica’s first album on cassette through a mail-order catalog, not having heard of them before. The description of “thrash metal” intrigued him, and when he received the album (Kill ‘Em All) in the mail, it completely blew his mind.

In another interview, when asked what keeps him grounded, Dave Grohl humorously responded that his children are the ones who don’t care if he’s a rock star.

To them, he’s just their dad, and they’re more concerned about getting a smoothie from him than his musical fame. This shows that even with his success, he values the normal, everyday aspects of life.
