CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Cavaliers’ Darius Garland is hosting three free youth basketball camps this summer to give back to the community.
On Saturday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the 2022 NBA All-Star will begin his summer youth basketball camp program at Richmond Heights High School.
“As a young basketball player, I always looked forward to playing basketball in the summer and learning from different coaches and players,” Garland said. “I decided to host these camps to give young basketball players the opportunity to improve their skills, form new friendships, and make lifelong memories.”
Boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 14 are welcome to attend the camp.
Garland will be among the special guests at the camp at Richmond Heights High School.
Each camper will receive an autographed item as well as a camp t-shirt. Garland partnered with Cleveland-Cliffs, Lago East Bank, Upper Deck, Pierre’s Ice Cream Company, Cavs Academy, and Gatorade to provide attendees with the best and most memorable camp experience possible.
The rest of Garland’s youth basketball camps will take place in June. The second camp will be held in Merrillville, Indiana, on Friday, June 10, and the final camp will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday, June 16.
